Wearing Monki jacket, Topshop lace bralet and gold midi

THANK YOU LABOUR DAY, so relieved we've still got one extra rest day. Will be in bed binge watching show, if anyone's curious. Here's the last of the girls-laze-at-home series, shot by Kristie. This series makes a pretty good explanation as to why I'm frequently late. Okay, I lied about this being my last outfit in a jacket for a while, this is the last.

Can we just talk about the music releases this week??? Beyonce's Lemonade and Drake's Views in the same frickin' week, when I open my iTunes now, I spend a good 30 seconds deciding which album to go for. Group chats with my friends have been going crazy all week, sending each other articles on speculations on who "Becky with the good hair" could be. If you're interested, I read a pretty good article explaining how majority of the internet missed the significance of the already iconic line. With no word from Bey herself, I'm still not sure how true this is but it's an interesting opinion to consider, nonetheless. You can read it here.

Hope everyone's doing well!

Lace around

Wearing: lace top from The Editor's Market, corduroy pinafore from POMELO fashion, ColourPop's More Better on the lips

Second outfit from the girls-laze-at-home series, shot by Kristie. I love my greens, I'm a sucker for anything jade, emerald, olive. I've tried walking away from them in stores, trust me, I have.
It doesn't work.

Laze daze

Wearing: H&M denim jacket, TOPSHOP black halter, ColourPop's Tulle on the lips

What's a holiday without a lazy day with one of your best gal pals right? Couple of weeks ago, Kristie (gal pal as aforementioned) came over and we decided to play dress up. We were going for an "all dressed up but nowhere to go" (or really just too lazy to get up and go) kinda look, are you feelin' it?

Just being real, probably the last jacket you will see in my outfits, at least for the next couple of months, IT'S TOO HOT UP IN HERE. ColourPop's Tulle looks like a deep mauve pink in the tube but once on my lips, it turns brown, is all cool tho I love it. It is, unfortunately, not an easy lip product to remove, it gets everywhere and in the next series of photos (which will be up soon!) I didn't even have to slap on a lipstick, it's already stained. Ahh, a lazy girl's make up hacks.

She's cute, I know, and single too ;-)

Welcome back to this little space! I’m so happy to have you, I can’t come up with any excuses for my hiatus that don’t sound lame in my head so I will save you from hearing them, I’ve just been lazy.

I’ve been loving shirt dresses lately. For one, dresses are always an easy go-to to look put together on days you can’t find it in you to decide what to wear. However, the tricky thing for someone my height is finding the perfect length for shirt dresses so that it doesn’t end up looking sloppy. Any longer and it’s gonna look like I rushed out of the house in my pajamas, y’know what I mean?

On the topic of (fashionable) convenience, rompers are another option. You just have to make one choice (okay, I must admit, most days even a single choice is hard to make) and you are set for the day. This is one I would put on for a last minute night out! Maybe it’s just me but I always forget how to tie a knot through a D-ring. I mean, that stuff looks cool and all but man, it gets messy.

Photos were shot and edited by my friend, Kristie.

I’m little nervous for the months to come but more excited than anything else. I've missed the process of planning an outfit for the blog and the excitement when it's finally ready to be published. I hope you’ve been well, I’ll be back here real soon.

Bangkok Photo Diary

I left on the morning of Boxing Day, and returned just some 22 hours to the new year. I've been to Bangkok a couple of times, doing the usual touristy things like shop, eat (thai food mmmmm, we need a praying hands emoji here please). This time around, I wanted to explore something different, its cafe culture, especially since this was my first trip there after discovering the magical wonders of coffee (circa 2012). So as you can guess, most of this post will be food, coffee, me drinking coffee, me in clothes (of course), in different poses and drinking coffee.

I had their Toasty Glazed (croissant with glazed ham and bacon) which they recommended would be good paired with an iced latte so that is what I ordered. However, the reason I persisted on finding this place and dragged my whole family along (it is tucked away in a small corner of the huge mall Siam Center, disguised as a lifestyle store at first glance, so it took us a while) because I read about their signature stylish cold brews, served whiskey style here. Since the rest of my fam gang doesn't take their coffee black, I finished everything myself. And I know you'll guess my response to be "oh yes, more for me" right? Well. You are right. But by the end of 2 large cups of coffee, my hands were shaking a little and I started to doubt my ability to take sharp photos. No regrets tho.

When I was doing my trip research on the net, when I saw the architecture and decor of the place, I knew I had to visit. The cafe/bar/restaurant had a extensive menu and my sis and I had some of the fluffiest pancakes. Take a peak down below and tell me I'm not the only one that wants to take a nap on them??

and that's all from my trip, folks.

I hope everyone had great countdown, no matter how you brought in 2015. I keep wanting to wish people "a good year" but we know a entirely pleasant year just doesn't happen, we've got more than 365 chances to mess things up. So instead, I hope you see the good in every situation you are put in and make this year a meaningful one. Happy New Year, stay safe.

Beginning of The End

leather jacket: Forever 21, thigh slit midi:, shoes: Superga 2750, tote: Monki

Beginning of the end of 2014, that is! I finally turned 18 yesterday, pretty chill Monday spent in lecture halls, not the ideal situation but it makes for one less crappy Monday left in 2014. I know this is a rather odd thing to notice but it was the first time I have ever spent a birthday in classes (for the past 18 years, my birthday fell on a holiday/weekend) and actually around my peers. Undeniably, it is great day for social validation, hugs, wishes and honest people making the effort to make you feel special. I got fed coffee continuously and usually I would worry about an caffeine overdose but I think it was a risk I was willing to take. Thank God for friends that know the way to my heart.

Just some people that made my day:

I am excited for what the new year has to bring and hopefully, a new year will bring change and a jolt in the monotony I have been wishing for lately.

Speaking of monotony, I have lost count of the number of times I have been asked, "Ashley, are you going through a black and white phase?" To be honest, I am not sure. I do miss my colour and sometimes I do try to inject it into my day to day. It is sort of me fighting the December rainy season by making an ironic statement as I run around in the rain, in a bright orange floral outfit. I'm not sure if I just look silly, but I do it anyway.

My favourite thing about my outfit today is def my new leather jacket. Probably because I felt the tough, leather look could compensate for my baby face on the whole gangsta scale. (Is it working??) I got this one at Forever 21. I have not shopped there in a while but I walked by the other day and I happened to see it in the window and it was just the kind I have been looking for. I was half preparing myself to deal with the let down I would have to face after I check the price tag and probably have to walk away from it. But!!! Alas, good things do happen!! It was less than $50, which I think is a great deal for a leather jacket (yes it is not real leather fo sho, but real leather in the Singapore heat is probably too much too bare, even for the sake of vanity, I'm sorry bro, I can't do it) You can expect to see a lot more of this leather baby.

December is going to be a hectic month of school, but I am also very sure it's going to be a great end to 2014, I can't wait!  It is what gives me the energy to get through the not so fun days, paired with large amounts of coffee.

I hope you have as many positive feelings as I do about December, if not, more. But regardless, I hope you are getting by just fine.
